My hard drive has been playing up a little and for now has always managed to get it back up and running relatively quickly, but only a matter of time before it fails completely I suspect.

I believe I can not add an M2 ssd, so what are my options, thinking of replacing hard drive for  Samsung MZ-76E1T0B/EU 1 TB 860 EVO Sata III 64L V NAND Solid State Drive, which should replace my HDD completely, I see with an adapter and some free software I can copy the whole disk or just the OS, original OS was windows 7/ 64bit I think and currently windows 10 64bit/

so looked at the Acer support videos but couldn't find anything, there doesn't appear to be a separate compartment for anything, ie its undo all the screws by the looks.

Soummary:-

1. Can I go SSD at all and if so am I limited to the likes of
Samsung MZ-76E1T0B/EU 1 TB 860 EVO Sata III 64L V NAND Solid State Drive ?

2. Is there a guide to opening up to access the port/ hdd with least number of operations.

If anyone can advise it be much appreciated.

Thanks

    Good Morning MadWayne !

What EXACT model of your laptop?
Possibly by the informed date it should not have slot M.2.
In this case you could install a standard 2.5 "Sata 3 SSD.

You can use some cloning software such as Minitool Partition or Macrium Reflect.
However, it is necessary to clone all existing partitions and the SSD must have the same storage capacity as the HDD.

To open and install this will depend on each model.
