Hi everyone,

a few months ago I did a factory reset on my laptop which I’ve done many times before successfully. But this time my laptop died half way through it and ever since when I go to start it up again it says I need to use an installation disc. I’m not techy at all, I’ve had this laptop for probably 8 years. I don’t know what to do or what I have to purchase or do to make it work again. I had a warranty for 1 year which has obviously ended. I’m hoping someone can help me. I’d really appreciate any kind of help. Thank you

Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds or till the laptop completely shuts off. Then turn it back on again and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. If the hidden recovery partition is still intact, a similar recovery screen should appear again. Follow directions as in the video below to either reset to factory fresh or refresh while trying to save your personal files. If it fails, try it at least one more time. Jack E/NJ

    Good night KPOPE !

If the recovery partition has been damaged for some reason and the installation can not be continued then the idela is to download an official Microsoft ISO and install the system in a "clean" way.
With the serial being recorded in bios your system will be activated automatically.

Hi, thanks for replying. I’m not the best at this stuff, I don’t quite understand what you mean
