Unfortunately, this is how the laptop is designed to work, after the battery percentage is under 50%, the performance is reduced to conserve battery life even when the device is plugged in.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

@smile one of the solutions might be undervolt it to see if you can get less power drain with the same performance so conserving more battery my suggestion is always start to play with the battery on 100% and calibrate the battery if needed by charging it to 100 and let it drain untill its shuts down by itself repeat the procedure 3 times also a battery power drain wouldnt do any harm either also a bios setup default and as @ven98 stated when the battery reaches 40% or less it will cut the performance never happened to me on my G3-572 im always on AC most i had played was 10h+ non stop and my battery never drained even a bit but i undervolted and repasted with kryonaut also bare in mind any high powered usb devices attached (external hdd etc...) will also drain the battery a lot as external monitors might do the same in some cases as they use the dedicated hdmi port to the gtx
