My trackpad/touchpad isn’t responding on my Chromebook 14, any way to get my cursor to work?

I’ve had my Chromebook for a few months now and not had any problems until today. Earlier, the trackpad was still working fine, but now it won’t respond!

When I plug an USB mouse into my laptop, it reappears and works fine, but as soon as I unplug it, the cursor does not respond or move. And as soon as I press any key, it will disappear.

I’ve restarted it a few times and tried other “remedies” google suggested, but no luck.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

What you might do is gated by your warranty status. If you are still in warranty I'd contact Acer support and have them fix it. If you are out of warranty pop it open and take a look at the connection between the touchpad and the motherboard, also look at the battery to make sure it's not bulging just a bit and pushing on the touchpad from underneath.
