I have a Ace Aspire At3-710 (SNID************) i7-6700 3.4GHz speed. I want to upgrade my RAM to 16gb. The machine already have 12gb PC3L (1x4 and 1x8 configuration). Can I use DDR3 1.5V or not? Only 1.35V?

    You can use 1.5V DDR3.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

My AT3-710-EB51 Acer Aspire using i7-6700 cpu @ 3.4 ghz, GTX 1050 ti and Win10 edition. I put in two Gskill RipSaw X RAM in ( 2 x 8g) at ddr3 with 1.5v, but when I try to boot up, there was a high distinct whining noise only as the ram is not being recognized. When I put the old RAM back in, no more whining noise and boot up normally.

Can you post the model number of the RAM that is in the system and the model number of the Gskill RAM?
