Predator 300, external 144hz monitor fps drops

R4geR4ge Posts: 2Member New User

So i bought a 144hz monitor (ViewSonic XG2401) with my Predator Helios 300 and now im getting really low frame rates in games.

And yes, the monitor IS set on 144hz on Nvidia control panel, i have also tried various other possible solutions but nothing seems to work.

The monitor is connected to laptop via HDMI (it is confirmed to be able to display 144hz via HDMI ), the HDMI cable is also capable of transmitting 144hz.

The laptop specs are Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, Intel i7-8750, and should be capable of displaying 144 fps. The temperatures while gaming are around 80C°-85C°, i have undervolted my cpu.

Sincearely i am running out of ideas and have no clue as to what is the problem.

Please help.
