Attempting to upgrade my RAM from 6GB to 12GB (max allowed according to Acer).  The 6GB are installed as follows:  4GB soldered to the MB, 2GB in 1 slot on MB.  According to Acer and Crucial's website, the proper memory for this laptop is DDR3L, PC3L-12800S, 1600Mhz, CL11, 1.35v, 1Rx16.  These are the specs of the 2GB stick already installed.  In my attempt to upgrade the RAM to 12GB, I have tried 3 different brands of 8GB memory with the same numbers except the last figure - 1Rx16. All 8GB sticks I have tried have 2Rx8.  I get the same issue with all 3 - the laptop won't boot with the new RAM installed.  It boots fine with the old 2GB stick though.

BIOS and all drivers are up-to-date.  Does anyone know why I can't upgrade this RAM?

Thank you!
