I have an A717-72G-700J (Aspire 7 NH.GXEAA.005).

It is currently on BIOS version 1.19. Since then, two new BIOS versions have been released: 1.22 and 1.24.

My questions are:

1. If I want to update the BIOS, should I directly go from 1.19 to 1.24, or should I go from 1.19 to 1.22 first and then 1.22 to 1.24?

2. Should I update the BIOS or not? Has anyone done this on this specific model? Is it safe / risk-free? What are the pros and cons, and what steps / precautions should I take? I have never updated BIOS before.

I would recommend you go for 1.22 and then 1.24. Sometimes when you try to update from 1.19 to 1.24 the BIOS would ask you to update 1.22 first.

If your device is working properly then there is no need to update the BIOS.

If you want to update then make sure to connect the power source, close all the background apps and then run the BIOS.
