  • Does a game interfere with bios or even break bios? That's not possible! I still think the problem that is related there are some intel and nvidia drivers.

    I do not own this notebook model. However, it is very likely that the technical service has updated the bios to the latest version: https://www.acer.com/ac/pt/BR/content/support-product/7905?b=1
    For the BIOS the laptop updated had the same problem but as I said after playing TDU2 which has a problem with RTX card. The game caused a second issue (only when playing it) sometimes the screen brightness was set to max and impossible to change it (screen settings frozen) but restarting the laptop everything was back to normal.
    So first I played R6, GTA V and Overwatch during like 4 months and everything was fine. 4 months after I played Test Drive for about 30 min. After that during a match in Siege with a friend the screen turned off for the first time!

    Receiving my laptop I played Rise Of The Tomb Raider for like 30 min the first day. The following day I tried TDU2 and the screen turned off after 20 min and it keep turning off randomly as the "bad time" haha.

    For you it is impossible? I hope it's just a coïncidence but I can't be sure so I will try next time (when I'll get the laptop back for the second time).
    If the screen turned off they'll refund me so I won't be sure unfortunately if the game is for something or not...
    Overall I liked the laptop so I'll probably buy a fresh one again (without playing tdu2... :/)
  • I still think the problem is in the transition from intel graphics card to nvidia graphics card. What happens when I select dgpu only?

    Also remember to manually select the nvidia graphics card from the nvidia control panel as well.

    A game could probably in theory change something software wise that could bug some stuff up but it will never change anything bios wise

    My laptop same model was sent to the Acer Service center. Hopefully they’ll be able to fix it lol.. got the black screen way too many times and gsync was acting funky.

    Yes mine was not working after Acer Care...
    So I took it back a second time. Do you think it's a commun issue or just we are unlucky? Because I'm looking for rebuying it after getting a refund...

    Mine, it took me like 16 days but they just updated BIOS as I said, it wasn't working, so now for the second time I don't have it for the moment. I sent it 19 days ago and Acer are waiting for pieces to repair the laptop... they told me 10 days before receiving the pieces... so I'm dealing with the seller because I'm SPOILED and I want a new pc which works this time!
    That's the second time I'm having problems with Acer laptops, their service is poor! I'm sorry but yeah, if u have a laptop working it's cool for u, but try to think about our situation?!

    So if the seller refund me, I don't know if I'll buy the Asus Zephyrus or giving a third chance to Acer (in 2 years...)

    Hi guys!
    I received mine today, Acer changed the heat pipe (something like that) the motherboard and they reinstalled Windows + the BIOS.
    I'll test it this week while playing. If people who had experienced this issue can pls tell me if the problem still persist after that it could help me a lot!

    Hello guys. I have a predator triton 500 with RTX 2060. And I just decided to play Witcher 1 which is from 2007 I think. And the game just crashed and my graphics card isn’t detectable. Of course the battery reset was a temporary fix. I downloaded the latest RTX drivers from the nvidia website and it worked fine for like 2-3 hours. Is there no permanent fix for this? Thanks in advance

    Hey all. I have been following this thread since the same BSOD occurred to me when playing cs:go. I only have the rtx 2060 model but maybe my solution works for you as well: In the NVIDIA control panel I changed the program specific setting for cs: go to only the nvidia card and it has been working fine so far. Let me know if this helped anybody!

    So I have the Triton 500 with the 2080 and whenever I play pubg the game crashed after about 10 min or so(time varies every time) and my dgpu becomes undetectable,  figured out that selecting only dgpu in bios bio then applying settings and reverting back to hybrid mode fixes the issue(this solution has been discussed in this thread as well) but it crashes again and I have to repeat the process everytime, searched for a solution on Google and came across this thread, I realised that I wasn't using the latest geforce drivers but it was only one version older so I updated it to the latest version, haven't tried paying pubg so far, also have applied the same only dgpu mode for pubg on Nvidia control panel just like you suggested, hopefully I don't have any issues whatsoever, btw it's been a while since you posted how it it going so far? And I do believe that this is a software issue, no way in hell is the dgpu bad or something.

    kb984 always make sure to setup the games/apps manually/individually on nvcp to run on the DGPU even setting to performance most times wont stick
