Screen causing computer to short. won't turn on with display

Hi I have replaced the screen and the hinges on my nitro 5 and now everytime I turn on my laptop with the screen connected it refuses to boot or show any life at all .I believe something is causing a short on the screens side of the connection and im having a new 30 pin video cable delivered can anyone tell me if im on the right path to repair the issue or is this something that can't be fixed by a faulty cable . Also replacing the screen was to fix a visible brake on the old screen not to fix the short as that is a new issue that presented its self about 10 min after I had the new screen working.

Before you do anything else, i would suggest trying to reseat the 30pin edp cable. (If you havent already)
