Acer E5 475g graphics card how to disabe

Greetings Acer Community

Im using an e5 475g laptop, I experienced a black screen. I’m using the laptop for spreadsheet only, and watching movies.

I would like to ask how to disable my dedicated graphics card.

Please help me because I dont want my laptop to experience blak screen again, luckily my laptop is under warranty and the company will replace the motherboard of my laptop.

Why do I experience this kind of problem always? My previous hp laptop died also because of GPU issue.

Why do I experience this kind of issue? Im only using my laptop for excel and watch movies on weekend only?

No sir, I only see the monitor is on, but it only has a black blank screen.

If no logo boot screen, then your integrated adapter is the problem. Did this happen suddenly for no apparent reason? Jack E/NJ

Yes sir, it happened for no reason. I was on exvel spread sheet and it turned off on its own, i turned it on again, in less than a minute it turned off again, the laptop was no heat issues as I dont feel any hot areas on the laptop. The next day I turned it on again it was a blank black screen though the monitor is on. The service center told me they are going to replace the motherboard and they are waiting for the parts.

im afraid that after the warranty, it might crash again. At least I would have an idea hiw to mitigate the problem caused by black screen.

what can I do so that i wont experience black screen?

Wait. You didn't mention this before. Is this an external monitor? And is it working OK? Can you use the machine with this external monitor/ If yes, then it's probably just a video ribbon cable that needs to be replaced. Jack E/NJ

The mentioned monitor is the monitor of the laptop itself, not an external monitor. The when I push the on button, laptop monitor is bright black blank screen, but has no logo, no numbers, no words, just a lit up laptop monitor with black blank screen it has no activity at all

I hope you can help me figure this out so that I could preserve the longevity of my device so that we could pin point the possible cause of black screen

Yes, its like no. 3 but just a black blank screen.

OK. Now try fellow egydiocoelho 's suggestion. Remove charger plug. Look for a battery re-set pinhole on the bottom of the laptop. Gently insert a paper clip into the hole for about 10 seconds to disconnect the battery. Then let the machine rest for 15 minutes. Then plug the charger in. Then turn the system on again. Jack E/NJ

Thanks sir egydiocoelho, but unfortunately even the service center, they tried the cleaning because they suspected a clog up of dirt, but didnt work, they did a motherboard replacement. Why is that?

Yes sir, currently my laptop is at the service center, the service center is about to replace my motherboard as soon as the motherboard ordered arrive.

My problem is, sooner, the laptop will be out of warranty and I want to protect my laptop from the same kind of scenario (motherboard replacement) because I know it would be expensive.

So what might be the cause of the problem? Or is there somethig wrong with my usage?

yes sir, I tried to connect my blank screen laptop to a tv with hdmi, but the tv said “no signal”, i tried all hdmi port of the tv.

before the last time I used my laptop that was on a good running condition, I connected my laptop to an external monitor, after a few weeks my laptop went lit up monitor with blank black screen

Did you try to turn the TV on with the FN+F5 or FN+F6 toggle key combinations? Jack E/NJ

Yes sir, I have done that before I sent it to the service center.

Unfortunately it didnt work.

The service center tried to clean the fan vents and observed, but the problem was still persisting.

so the service center decided to replace the motherboard.
