    Good night SHOW  !

Before performing the procedures that I will pass on to you, understand that high-performance laptops use some of the battery power to calibrate the system when performance is required.
Some situations can cause the load to fall by as much as 40%.
Because of this, the ideal is to always let the battery reach between 95 and 100% charge before playing.

    Perform the following procedures:

    CALIBRATION AND BATTERY RESET

First, disable Quick Start in the power options and disconnect the notebook from the power outlet.

    httpswwwhowtogeekcomwp-contentuploads201602fast-startup-650x313pngpagespeedcekM3Qa70mcUpng

    BATTERY CONTROLLER RESET
Access the device manager and look for the "acpi-compatible control method battery driver" and "microsoft AC adapter" and give it up.
Then restart the notebook for Windows to reinstall and remove any errors.

    httpsimagesdrivereasycomwp-contentuploads201811img_5bfe7020cb7efjpg

    Process to reset the battery

        Disconnect the power adapter.
Locate the hole to reset the battery in the bottom of the computer.
He inserted a small clip into the hole. Hold the reset button for 05 seconds.
Let the computer rest for 5 minutes without power.
Plug in the power adapter and turn on the system.

The button is the type that is identified in the photo.

    External Battery Pack

If your notebook has an external battery, proceed as follows:
1- Unplug the appliance from the mains and then disconnect the battery.
2- Press the power button for thirty seconds, so that the static power is dissipated.
3 - Replace the battery and turn the unit on.

    Process for calibrating the battery

For this, you must turn off the device and give a 100% charge.
Then unplug and use the battery until the battery runs out.
    Reload it as before.
Repeat the process 3 times so that all cells are fully calibrated.

    POWER INTERRUPT BUTTON

Make sure that the power interrupt button is pressed down:

You can either press the right screw a little more or put some layers of electrical tape:

Today's high performance notebooks also use battery power even when connected to the power adapter when more performance is needed! However, the batteries can be discharged up to 40% and recharge normally!

@SHOW as it was already said above by @MaClane and @egydiocoelho that is completely normal the battery will only start to charge again on A/C (when gaming etc) when it drops under 40% and when it does you will suffer a hudge drop in performance if you are playing any game or any high demanding task as the adapter cannot provide enough power to charge the battery and for that task at the same time so my suggestion when that happens stop what you are doing and let it charge to 100% in fact never play any games or demanding tasks on battery and when playing make sure the battery its always 100% charger before you start

But @MaClane and @xapim earlier this was not like that and also charger goes off even on 90% battery, i have experienced that also.
I think there is a problem with my ac adaptor in my device specification it is mentioned maximum power wattage is 180W but my charger output is 135W.

@SHOW the gtx 1050ti variant brings the 135W the 1060 the 180W adapter my 135 never had any issues with it also you have to consider that by using high powered usb devices will force the adapter to drain power from tha battery as this one cannot provide enough for ex tere are ppl using usb non powered hubs those are just rubbish they will drain all the power you will loose performance and battery always use powered hubs and if you are one of those i recommend Anker my battery never drained even a bit while gaming 10h+ non stop now i noticed it drains a bit (not much i dont even notice) because i have an external 10gbps 2.5" usb3.0/3.1 with a 5tb 2.5" hdd always connected

    Hi,

I have Acer Helios 300 P315-52, I think it's a bug with certain games. I tried Apex Legends while charging from around 30%, have the same problem. But it will stop if its in the game and after you switch off and on the power adapter, don't left the game, just switch off and on the power adapter. If it full battery, its would not have the issue. For other games like Dota 2, no issue. Maybe games with high GPU usage trigger this? Let me know if this correct.

Hope Acer could do something to fix the bug? Thanks

FillInTheBlank this is not a bug its a feature (i really cant understand why ppl call bugs to every feature designed/tested by the engineers just because they dont understand it or like it oh well) the predator gaming laptops will not charge while gaming unless the battery reaches less than 40% you will notice that you will loose all performance when this happens the adapter cannot do both you have to stop what you are doing and let it recharge to 100% also never play on battery if you do so you will end up by damaging the cell sooner and the battery will die due to too much wear and when playing on AC make sure the battery its fully charged before you start any game

The battery main purpose on gaming laptops its to aid the adapter with extra power when this one cannot provide enough to the cpu/gpu nothing else as i said only use it ion battery on emergency or if you dont really have a socket near and only for really light works apart form that keep it always on AC all the time

xapim I try it on 90% battery still have that issue on Apex Legends. The charger will stop charging and the FPS will drop. You can try it yourself, but my experience, I will turn on and off and till it charging again. I don't know about other games (i don't play a lot of title), only for Apex Legends it will do this. Start the games it will stop charging. Hope anyone can share any experience/solution to this.

FillInTheBlank  oscarrivas   Check you batteries wear percentage and if your adapters are not faulty test them with a voltmeter

My laptop has the same issue. When I try to play Apex Legends, even on 100% charge, the laptop stops charging and drops the fps drastically. I also am forced to unplug it from the wall to get it to charge again. The battery is hardly worn, and the laptop is a little over a year old. This issue only began recently and nothing has worked to fix it.

@Insanenarwhal Ideally, you should create your own. Also download the hwinfo64 program to check the battery for wear.

egydiocoelho Create my own what? I've already run several tests and there is practically no wear at all with the battery.

Hi! From what I've seen, you have the same issue as mine. Even I'm not being able to find a fix :(. I have played Ghost Recon: Wildlands, NFS: Payback, Crysis 2, all on very-high to ultra settings! My laptop is just 7 months old. Everything was fine until recently, I booted up Dishonored 2, and the exact same issue occurred. I've tried it on 100%, on 30%, I've updated my BIOS, my OS, my drivers, everything. Yet nothing seems to work. I've force-drained my battery and re-calibrated it as well. I have disabled and enabled the Battery driver as well, everything to no use :(.

I have started a separate topic here (https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/610643/predator-helios-300-battery-stops-charging-while-playing-games). My laptop is a PH315-52, bought in December 2019. If you find any solution, could you please reply here, or continue the thread that I've posted? Thanks!
