Aspire S13 - The screen casing is coming apart near the right hinge, causing intermittent screen failures (when the screen is misbehaving, applying & releasing pressure on the right corner of the casing with my fingers acts like a screen on/off switch).  Question:  Is this something that a local computer repair guy should be able to fix, or does this sound like big trouble?  Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunately, this S13 is no longer under warranty.  I removed the front face of the screen casing and the plastic hinge covers. A quick inspection revealed that those hinge covers were broken.  Eliminating the hinge covers has, curiously enough, improved the situation.  It seems clear now that the right-side broken hinge cover was shifting position when closing the screen assembly, thereby applying pressure to the lower corner of the screen casing and, apparently, interfering with the cable connection.  After hundreds of open/close iterations, the cable connection must have been compromised.  At any rate, I'm going to discontinue the use of those plastic hinge covers, hope the screen stabilizes, and suggest to the good folks at Acer that they discontinue the plastic hinge design concept.  Note:  The Aspire S13 is an otherwise excellent machine.
