Fan Control on Acer Predator G6-710

Hey

So I've got a fairly old model of the Acer G6-710, I don't know what the new ones come with, but mine uses an Intel Z170 motherboard, which unfortunately is not listed as compatible with speedfan.  Is there any way that I can control my CPU fan manually with this board?

I only ask because there are some big inconsistencies in how the Smartfan in the BIOS runs things.  Sometimes the fan runs at 1600 RPM, which I like, because it always keeps temps under 65 degrees no matter how intense the load.  However, sometimes, for days or weeks on end, it will only get up to 1480... I realize this isn't a huge difference, but it does make me nervous..

Thanks for any help you can give

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion but that only gives me the option to run the fans on 'Standard' or 'Full Speed' ... I was hoping for some way to run them inbetween those values

The reason I didn't reply to this for so long, was that it seemed to correct itself and return to the higher fan speed, and it stayed that way for the past month and a bit, but now it's back down and I can't change it at all.    The only fan settings in my BIOS are to turn smart fan on or off.  And it's super duper loud with it off.
  • What is the uefi (new bios) version of your computer? Try this predator sense program from a notebook gamer, to see if it enables manual control of the fan!
