Hello! I want to install 4x 16GB 2400-CL14 RAM into my PH517-51. Will it be run with 2400 or it downgrade frequency to 2133? I know that it will be run with 2400 if I install 2x16, but I want to know situation with 4x16.

What is the frequncy of the RAM that is in the laptop? You can check that with HWINFO.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Yes, 2400MHz will work.

Yes, I know it. But check my question. I want to install 4x16 RAM modules into my notebook. If I install 4x16 modules with 2400 MHz, then these modules will be downgraded to 2133 MHz?

    I found this info for PH517-61 (I have PH517-51). Look: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/613616/#Comment_613616
I want to buy new memory with the right frequency.

What do you think about it? Can you check it in the service manual?

    Thank you so much!

I checked in the service manual and nothing is mentioned about decreasing in frequency by going from 2 to 4 modules. It also wouldn't make sense if the frequency is decreasing by adding more memory modules, considering this is the default frequency.

I am just curious from where @laurent_14 got this information, referring to the link you posted.

I found this information in the PH517-61 diagram but he owns a PH517-51 so it's not the same model:

    Thanks, guys!

@ven98, I just want to buy memory with best CLs. What do you think about Kingston HyperX Impact HX424S14IB/16?
It is 2Rx8 memory (datasheet: https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/HX424S14IB_16.pdf ). But @laurent_14 said that for PH517-61 frequency will be downgraded and I just want to know what I should do because similar information for PH517-51 I can't find.

So, HX424S14IB/16 will work better for me than my preinstalled memory?

I don't think the frequency of Ph517-61(AMD) will downgrade to 2133MHz if 2400MHz is installed, just doesn't make sense and I don't what the limitation here is. The CPU

1R or SR from the diagram means single rank memory, I think and according to it if you install 2 SR modules they will work at 2400MHz, but if you install 2 2R(dual rank) memory or dual rank with single rank, then it will work at 2133MHz.

I don't think this diagram applies to the intel variant. The default frequency supported by the CPU is 2666MHz, which means you can install 4x16GB 2666MHz memory if you want. The HyperX memory from the link you have given should be better, because of the lower CAS latency. The absolute latency of the CL14 2400MHz is lower than CL19 2666MHz, so it is better.

I assume your device comes with 2x8GB 2666MHz(you can check if it is currently working on 2666MHz(1333) with HWiNFO. According to the diagram with 2 SR memory modules the frequency should be downgraded to 2400MHz(1200), so if it works at 2666, despite what the diagram shows, therefore it doesn't apply for your device.
