Has anyone done this here? I installed Dragon Player under Linux Beta and the video is perfect but there is no audio. From what I've been reading, audio support for Linux Beta will be "coming soon". I would like to install Linux alongside Chrome using Crouton if possible on this Chromebook. Before I enable developer mode and wipe everything I would like to know if this can be done. If it's doable, can the Spin 15's hardware handle Unity or would xfce be a better option?

Nope, not that I know of. But if it's doable, you have a shot at being first. Go for it. Let us know how it goes. Good luck. Jack E/NJ

Thanks LOL, I think I might "go for it" tomorrow. Unless someone know for sure that it can't be done and replies before I "go for it" tomorrow.

It worked!!! I installed xfce first and all was well until I tried flipping the screen to use in tent mode. The touchscreen was pretty much unusable because everything was moving in the opposite direction of what I was actually trying to do. Auto-rotate won't work unless you make a script and then have to keep deleting a file when it becomes too large. I installed gnome next and everything is working fine. I can flip the screen to use in tent mode and the touch screen works properly. Auto-rotate is supposed to work in gnome once I figure out how. I'm a happy camper now.
