So whenever I game on my Acer Aspire 7 A715-71G-70TD, I constantly face fps drops to around 50-60 from 200+, mind telling me a fix ? or is getting a cooling pad the only option

Check the max and average temperatures of the CPU and GPU with HWiNFO and report them here.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

As I mentioned previously, it should be while you are gaming and experiencing the fps drops.

It doesn't seem that the CPU is throttling. Can you post a screenshot of the GPU temperature?

The GPU temperature is fine either. You can try updating both Intel and Nvidia graphics drivers to latest version from their websites, not Acer.

Control Panel power plan must be set to performance, battery should be near 100% charged and charger plugged in before heavy gaming loads. Jack E/NJ

If you have Geforce experience installed, try disabling the ingame overlay. If that doesn't help uninstall both nvidia and intel graphics with DDU in safe mode and install again the latest DCH driver from intel and driver 417.22 or 399.24 from nvidia.

It doesn't? The screenshot seems to indicate more than one of the cores hits 96-98C, also indicating a 'YES' for throttling while at maximum load.  One of the cores show minimum processor speed down to 800MHz, with an average across all cores of only 2.9GHz. Unless I am missing something, this all indicates throttling.

You can't expect the average frequency to be the same as the max frequency. Also, the temperature of the cores is at round 80C average with a maximum of 85C, 87C, 94C, 98C, which can't cause throttling, as the max temperature could very well be a single spike in temperature the may last for miliseconds. What I missed is Core #1, which seems to be working hotter than the rest and is the one that has dropped to 800MHz(my mistake here), which is likely the reason for the fps drop.

The OP can try undervolting with throttlestop to see if that will help. Undervolting doesn't reduce performance, nor its harmful.

You can try undervolting the CPU first. You can find many videos online showing how to properly undervolt.
