My computer has been running fine for the last 2 or so years until today, when I am using it, it will freeze for several minutes before giving me the blue screen of death and restarting. I read up on it and saw that this could be happening because I haven’t updated my drivers. There was a graphics driver update available, I updated them but the problem still remains. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Jamie

I am using an Aspire ES1-523 which has:
Amd a4 7210 quad core cpu with
Radeon r3 7210 graphics
8gb ram
(if any of that helps)

There is a BIOS update available at this link to resolve a blue screen hang. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6885?b=1  However, since this happened only recently, I would first try to alternately vacuum the air intakes and air exhausts a half dozen or so time to chase out any dust bunnies that may be clogging the thermal modules. If cleaning resolves the issue, then it was probably simply overheating and a BIOS update isn't needed or advised due to the increased risk of bricking the machine.  Jack E/NJ

Did you try vacuuming the machine first?! Jack E/NJ

ACER... Same problem, Mine has constantly suffered the same issue since update 1803. Now running 1809, same issues.. More often than not it appears graphic card related! Get your ***** together or accept invoices for the time lost! There is no common instances of programs running, it is random. On Friday, it did not crash, today, at least six times! You have an issue of which you deny! I have restored this Laptop at least 4 times in the last six months, Stop telling people that is an option as it takes at least 8 hours each time to restore it the the condition that when I purchased it, worked fine! Same programs, if not less, all of which operate perfectly on my 10 year old Desktop PC! But no longer, each time, same *****! Sort it out or I personally will not  or refer anyone to purchase another ACER product again. Refer Compaint 881986Z. Nothing has changed, denial of a problem is still persistent from ACER! PULL YOUR FINGER OUT!
