I have had a problem with my Chromebook I got in August 2018 for a few months now. In November/December, I was using it while charging it, and I went downstairs to get a glass of water. When I came back to my room, the charger fell out, and when I tried to put it back in, it seemed loose and didn't work. After a few days of minimally using it, it died.

I haven't tried to get it fixed, and a few weeks ago, I tried charging it again, and it's port sparked. Any advice?

Not good, especially the spark. Hopefully that didn't zap anything important. Take a close look at the power socket and plug. It sounds like there is likely something broken there. If the broken part is on the power supply you just should need to get a replacement. It shouldn't be too expensive. If the broken part is on the tablet itself the fix is a lot more or a problem. Most of these have the power jack soldered to the motherboard and it'll take a good technician to repair it.

I have the same issue. I opened it up and the charging port is a separate lead. It had come loose but once I refitted it it still arced and didn’t charge. Did you find a solution? Thanks.
