Greetings,

I have an Acer aspire 7 laptop (A717-72G-76V1). Hwinfo64 tells me my screen is an LP173WF4-SPF5 (http://www.panelook.com/LP173WF4-SPF5_LG Display_17.3_LCM_overview_29880.html). As the title mentions, I was wondering if I could simply put an Helios 500 screen in and enjoy that sweet 144 Hz ?
Both screens have the same type of mount and number of pins for the connector (see: https://www.laptopscreen.com/French/model/Acer/PREDATOR~HELIOS~500~PH517-61-R0GX/). As for dimensions, I'm not 100% sure its perfectly exact since I don't really know the part number of the helios 500 screen, but both laptops are really similar in terms of size. My main worry lies in the power department. The new screen will obviously demand more juice, but as for how significant it is, I don't know.

What's your opinion on this?

Thanks in advance,

Mr.Kiwi

    Good Morning MrKiwi !

First, let's check the part number of the screens and the exact size.

But in addition to the power options, you should also watch for processor, video, and system support to provide such refresh rate.
