Acer Active Stylus Intermittent Function

I've been using my Active Stylus for close to 8 months with no major issues (disconnects sometimes or acts wonky), but now when trying to write anything, doesn't register smooth line. Like if I try to draw a line, it turns up dotted like the pen is only registering every other moment. When hovering just above screen, the cursor is constantly moving with the pen, but then when touching the screen that doesn't as smoothly.

Did you try replacing the battery yet? Jack E/NJ
