    Try the below step:
    1) click the start menu
    2) click on "run"
    3) type "regedit" and click ok
    4) go to string key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    5) delete "upper filters" and "lower filters in the right side window.
    6) right click my computer in the start menu.
    7) click properties
    8) go to the hardware tab
    9) click device manager
    10) expand the dvd/cdrom drives
    11) right click the dvd rom and click uninstall
    12) restart computer

     Probably the dvd of yours is getting dirty, smudged or scratched. Or the actual DVD drive lens is dirty, which will particularly affect dual-layer discs. Or your SuperDrive is bad or damaged. They are reasonable speculations. If the prop still remains, you may consider to try those steps. 1.Resort to cleaning kits to clean DVD discs. 2. Make sure the aluminum enclosure is facing up rather than upside down. Then connect the SuperDrive directly to the computer's USB port instead a USB hub. Anything beyond that, could be the update of your OS or iMac DVD player. You should confirm that beforehand, then go to this page to check for solutions.
