the monitor is supposed to be able to go up to 144hz, but I am using HDMI and from what I am aware of HDMI cables max out at 120hz. However, I can't get it to go past 60hz. My graphics card won't let me, but I have a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti which should have no problems running things at a higher resolution and refresh rate. Anyone have any suggestions?

It is very possible that the monitor uses an older version of HDMI, that doesn't support refresh rate higher than 60Hz, so you need to use the DisplayPort connection.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

HDMI does 144hz so there shouldn't be any issues there. I'd say try the displayport (I'm using it with no issues) or the other HDMI port. One is the MHL which I think only does 60hz so you'll have to use the other.

HDMI cables only can push 120hz from what I can find and that's only if it is a newer cable the older versions are much less. best way is to use displayport cable to get 144hz
