I tried doing the hard reset and charging my computer for 6 hours and still it does not charge or turn on.

Remove the charger. Check for a pinhole with a battery symbol on the bottom. Gently insert a paperclip in to the pinhole to disconnect the battery for about 10 seconds. Let the machine rest for 15mins. Then plug the charger back in and try to turn it on again. Jack E/NJ

Yes, I know. Did you find the battery reset pinhole or not? Jack E/NJ

I think I just have to get a new battery and get it replaced

Then you must open the bottom case anyway. Try disconnecting the battery connector from the mainboard for 10 seconds. Then re-connect it. Let it rest 15 mins. Then try to turn it on again. If it still doesn't work, then you probably need to replace the battery. Jack E/NJ
