Hi everyone !

I have a few questions about my predator 300 ~ (Which is not old, barery 5 months)

Model is PH317-52
i5-8300H
GTX 1060
8GB ram, and I added 'nother 8.

Stock temperature were a bit high to begin with, so I've checked a few posts here and there about undervolting and followed the @Red-Sand guides and ended using the TS configuration found here :
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dut1k3ct3atbdwx/AADb1Ztd08t9B7AazU1TLW_Na?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR1DxHBeXdHjmAarvh3nzX0EzVu0zx--7xIpTsLARpEnXdbi9ukqnZpDO28
The  Throttlestop for the i5-8300H profile.

That did the trick, I mean, more or less, I don't play such heavy games, I mostly play league of legends, temps are around 77 for CPU and 61 for GPU while playing lol.
I also play of Destiny 2 and FFXIV, and of course temps are higher (85°C ~) I tried with a game I don't play (Fortnite) and temps reached 89 for the CPU, and 75 for GPU (but those were just spikes, it was actually between 85 for cpu and 75/70 for cpu). Those are temps without Coolboost on.

Games are not always smooth, but it's not unplayable, I have a few fps drops on games like Destiny 2, settings are not always set to very high or ultra.

So here are my questions,
is everything ok ? Shouldn't temps be lower than that with that Throttlestop profile I've been using ?
Laptop being still pretty new I could still send him back, should I ask for a replacement ?
Maybe just a repaste ?
Also, sometimes, the fans are really really loud, even happen once, louder than usual while laptop being idle.

If you have any questions or should you need some screenshots, just ask, and, sorry for my poor english =D !

The temps are fine, as xapim said, but could be lower. I don't know if I'm being lucky with my helios 300 or what, but with undervolted CPU and GPU (slight underclock on the 1060 also since I need only 60fps) I never go higher then 70-73 playing demanding games like Witcher 3 f.e..
Repasting should lower your temps, I'm thinking of doing it myself. It is never a bad idea in my opinion.

I think your temps are fine but if you still want to lower it more the only way to do it is repasting with kryonaut or similar this being said you could do it yourself if you don't have any seals and the shop/seller where you bought it allows you to upgrade the ssd for ex without voiding warranty it all depends on each country and shop/seller if you have seals you would have to ask acer support for a repaste with the paste you provide if possible (in some countries they will do it) so its up to you to do a bit of research regarding your warranty and if you can or not do it yourself i repasted mine myself the same week i got it my temps dropped down 20+ and you can also optimize windows if you haven't already hope this answers your questions :)

Indeed you were lucky but its the silicon lottery you could get a good or a bad one u never know :p i am pretty satisfied with mine never thought my 1050ti would play all the latest games and anything i throw at it it plays fine even on ultra the only game i had to lower graqhic settings so far was MHW and it's the only that pushes it hard and heats up a bit and including latest games like Anthem alpha vip etc :) as i said really happy with it

Hi ! And thank you very much for the kind answers.

I will ask if the respaste thingy will void my warranty and will take care of it as faster as possible.

Also, today, a weird thing happened, I was playing Apex Legends, and then something that has never happened, well, happened. My HDD disconnected itself (kind of annoying when game is installed on it right ?) Windows was fine cuz it's on SSD. Any insight on that new issue ?  :#
I still to have to reboot to see if I can access the drive again, cuz right now, I can't.

I'm gonna check that, but I'm talking about the internal drive, it is set to 15 minutes, should I still set it to never ?

I totally forgot to reply and thank you ! So Thank you <3

So far everything is working, not perfectly but it is. I think performance could be a bit better, but I'm afraid temp will rise if I change my undervolt values.
I've read somewhere on this forum that on 8th Gen CPU, sometimes when the undervolt values were too low, it could increase the temps, and nobody seemed to know why   :#  (Funny thing, I saw Borderlands 3 trailer, and wanted to play the 2 again, temps were on the high 80°)

Here are my current values, do you guys see anything I could change to improve my experience any further ?

Thank you so much again !

Are you using pre made confs for TS or you manually made them by following remix video, you can start to play with the values yourself and see how it goes and where you get with them its always a hit and miss

Just keep playing with the values as i said its a hit and miss u might get some bsods as thats normal when tweaking untill u get the the perfect settings for mine i just followed the remix video and setup everything manually never touched it again as its fine for me :) but i suppose i could even be able to tweak it more if i wanted to
