My Helios 300 has been preforming great so far but for some reason it only has 126mb of dedicated vram, making it run terribly on vram heavy games.

Is there anyway I can fix this? When I searched the specs for the Helios 300 it said that it had 6gb of vram, what's going on here?

Usually integrated graphics take around 128MB.

You most likely running from the Intel HD graphics instead of the GTX 1060. Go to nvidia control panel>3d settings and from preferred graphics processor select high performance nvidia(you can do that for the game you are playing only by going to program settings instead of global settings).
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Where did you find your VRAM limited to 126MB? screenshot please.
The integrated intel graphics have about 1 GB dedicated and 1060 has 6 GB dedicated on the Helios 300 (G3-572 with 1060 GB).

Does anybody know how to increase de dedicated VRAM of the nVidia GeForce GPU on a Predator Helios 300 laptop please?

GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU - max available 8GB
    Currently, 128 MB dedicated

Tried in BIOS - there is no way to do this, the regedit method only works for the integrated one (Intel). I need to do it for my dedicated RTX 3070 GPU.

GPUs unfortunately are part of the mainboard on almost all laptops and cannot be upgraded or changed. Also, based on what you mentioned, something is not right - the 128 MB dedicated looks more like that of integrated video card and not RTX card.
Post screenshots from your taskmanager --> Performance tab --> GPU0 and GPU1.

After much research, tries and errors, and calls with Acer product support, turns out that there is no way to enforce the laptop to use the RTX first, before the integrated Intel one. No matter what the user settings (max performance everywhere, plus RTX selected as global video card everywhere - nVidia Ctrl Panel and Intel Grphics Ctrl panel) this stupid laptop still chooses the Intel one as the primary and leaves menial tasks to the GPU.

Workaround: I had to disable the integrated one to obtain what I wanted. This forced the laptop screen to change the resolution (only one available) and become the secondary screen, with no quick launch tab.

    Dear Acer,

Why can't you have it configured this way by default, but allow users to change it and allow to force it to go to the GPU as primary if they want to? When you spend thousands on a gaming laptop, you'd expect access to the GPU settings, including "use the ***** thing". It's very frustrating. In my view, this is a bug, not a feature, at least not a good one.

    Thank you
    V

Ironically, OS decides on picking, not the hardware manufacturer. You might want to check with Windows OS team for this.

ValkyrieVVV no its not a bug the only way to work with the DGPU only its to use an external display and physically disconnect the the internal display cable (you will never be able to use the internal display again if you do so) otherwise it will always use the IGPU by default as this one its directly connected to the internal display and  the display only works with it this is how all gaming laptops work and always will no matter what manufacturer unless you have a physical mux switch like some really expensive ones have but you have to spend at least $3000++++ up to have a gaming laptop with a mux switch its considered a premium feature only for premium gaming laptops not for low budget (nitro series) neither mid range budget like the H300/Triton are if you need premium features you need to spend loads on premium hardware and even many premium laptops over $3000 dont have a mux switch either so good luck with that :)

Also this is a dead thread from 3 years ago i dont see the point in reviving it you should had opened a new one with your own issue but the replies would be exactly the same so .....
