Just got the repaste job done.  Ran Dark souls 3 for a few hours and max temps were about 74 degrees, whereas they were up to almost a 100 degrees just yesterday prior to the repaste.  Not sure how long this will last.

Just to be clear, I've used Arctic Silver thermal paste.  I'm really hoping this provides a fix for a while.  I did one repaste job several months ago and it caused the temps to drop significantly for a while.  Hopefully, this paste job (all done by ACER reps) will deal with the issue for an extended period of time.  ACER recommended to the island representative that they should use this type of paste in the paste job.

RedandDread If you used premuim thermal paste like kryonaut for ex or similar it will last longer but its advisable for gaming laptops to be repasted once every year if they have highly daily usage (hard daily gaming) but i wouldnt worry in repasting again until you start to have thermal issues

This is an updated copy of what i have done from a prior post and found the changes very helpful with my temp issues.

    I have the 15" Helios 300
    With the specs:
    i7-8750h
    GTX1060 4GB GDDR5
    16GB RAM
    -----------------------------------------------------

When i play games the CPU regularly stays in the 85-90 ranges with rare peaks up to 92-93 C. This was with a cooling pad and undervolting, I just added the Power Options recommended earlier and my CPU for the same games have dropped to 75 and below.  Making the power change has pushed more onto my GPU which normally ran at 50-60 even while gaming and now runs 60-70.  So far i have not noticed any changes or loss in performance

    What I've done:
    1. Install Intel XTU for undervolt, adjust Core Voltage Offset to -0.145V
    3. Buy a cooler, does help add a couple extra degrees of cooling. Though mine isn't much more than a light breeze, something a bit stronger should have more of an effect.
    4. Power Option set to High Performance, adjust the maximum processor state to 93%.
