Hi, I've just purchased new an Acer Predator 17 laptop, model G5-793-79SG and there is no lighting around the touchpad, the stripes and logo on the lid cover.
I've tried using the Fn & F9 keys but no result. I would appreciate if someone in the community could give any advice?

Is there any BIOS or software update that could add this type of illumination to the G5 model too?
No, as the LEDs are physically missing from the device.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

G5 models with GTX 1060 don't have RGB lighting in the mentioned by you areas and the keyboard backlight is only red and blue.

Only the G9 models(g9-791, g9,792, g9-793, g9-591, g9-592 and go-593) have the logo and stripes illumination. Only G9-792, G9-592, G9-793, G9-593 have RGB backlight on the keyboard and only G9-793 and G9-593 have backlight around the touchpad.

    Thanks for your prompt answer.
It is disappointing that Acer and various reviewers did not point out in a clear way these differences between the two models.
