CB5-571 15" chromebook backlight failling

A year and a day from buying this, the backlight on the LCD screen has started to blank out. If I hold it to a light at the right angle I can see a faint image so I suspect the bulb has gone. Or the cable is dodgy since occasionally if I wriggle the screen backwards and forwards, it might reappear for a bit. Any one any helpful advice on opening the screen - I've removed the baseplate and nothing looks amiss or loose there but can't find how to open the screen part.
Cheers
Adrian

    Check these two connections:

To open the monitor, see this:

Is your notebook still under warranty?
There is a possibility that the led bulbs have burned!

Thanks for the pictures. Something to try tonight. Looked back in my Amazon UK orders and I brought it in August 2017 so doubt Acer would even want to look at it (Amazon don't even sell them anymore).

My suggestion would be check the warranty first, if the unit is under warranty its better to send it in to Acer. Because while replacing the part , if an other part get damaged that the warranty will be void. The below link will help you to check whether the unit is under warranty or not.

Hi Jack, the website says information is unavailable. However, on eBay UK, there are replacement screens for £30-£35, just waiting for confirmation the one I want is the one I need !!! There are Full HD screens available, would be nice to upgrade the resolution but I reckon it'd be more complicated than just swapping the LCD part :-(

    Cheers
