Should I buy the Acer Predator Helios 300 ? I'm not sure by reading this

Hey there;

I'm looking for a good gaming laptop at 17,3 inch with 256SSD and GTX 1060 and it seems this laptop is perfect or is it really?

I see some posts online that their Helias 300 stopped working and read a review:
In English;

I think that there is something teribbly wrong since the first automatifc update the pc is constantly frozen and it is only through a hard reset that it works for a brief moment again. You also can't go back to a clean windows because it also freeze then.

In Dutch:
"Ik denk dat er iets vreselijk mis mee is, want sinds de eerste automatische update slaagt de pc constant vast en kan hij enkel gered worden na een harde reset via startknop!
Je kan ook niet teruggaan naar fabrieksinstelling of naar een cleane windows, want ook daar slaagt hij dan vast"

    Well, in my opinion the Predator Helios 300 is a good choice. My friend has one for about 6 moonths now and he says has no issues with.

    Great laptop, regular screen (can be fixed by a lot using Red-Sand's tutorial), solid keyboard, nice trackpad, battery well optimized can last up to +/-5hours browsing, a lot of power, even more of heat.

    Think of it as dark souls 1 pc version, looks great, has its issues but can be solved with some love.

    What you mean has issues? And what are those exactly? Can you link me to them where they describe them and how to solve them?

    With issues, I mean that some hardware is not fully optimized.

    The best example is the screen. It's acceptable but the color range is not very precise, but it can be solved by applying a profile to windows and makes a huge difference. Solved with this

    The temps go quite crazy, solved with undervolt  and/or repaste

    Then you can optimize windows to better battery life and better temps also

    I can't think of more problems Helios 300 would have really. Those are the main downsides this laptop has, and the temperature one is for almost every compact hight demanding laptop, and the other two being battery life and the not quite precise monitor (which are fixable as mentioned).

    I'd really recommend it for its price the return is great.

    This is also a great post that helps Helios owners: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/535036/faq-cpu-gpu-temps-fps-settings-other-info/p1

    A lot of issues? The only issue it has it's the temperature, which almost every laptop with high performance gpu has. The windows optimization is something you should do in every pc and the screen thing is not an issue, it's the screen you are paying for that has not too much color precision but a well set profile will make wonders of it.

    Life is full of choices. You take a gamble with whatever you buy. If we here all knew of a better laptop, with less issues; why wouldn't we already have it? Thankfully your requirements are fairly generic and you basically have your pick of brands when it comes to 17" screen, 256GB SSD, and GTX 1060.

    In the past, Windows has released updates that have erased data, and caused system instability. This is not a fault of the computer or brand. This is Windows. The real problem is when someone has a software problem, and immediately blames the manufacturer of the hardware they are using. Simply put; many of the problems you read about online are misdiagnosed, not actual problems, or USER INDUCED! Don't dismiss an entire brand because of one comment somewhere on the internet.

    @walton if u can go higher why would u want the same specs just get an H500 i9 or ryzen then or an X21 and the H300 doesn't have any issues than any other gaming laptop with the same specs have and they are all easily solved and the best way to not get any thermal issues at all is to get a build it yourself gaming desktop instead
