I have Predator Helios 300 G3-571-77QK
My internal Microphone array not recording anything.
It work fine about 2 weeks before.
I just realize it today, but not sure the exact time this happen.
But definitely sometime after automatic windows update finished on 11 Jan 2019 (build 17763.253)

symptoms:
- the internal microphone array itself is still detected in "sound" setting
- but no green bar when I speak, thus didn't record anything
- if I use "Listen to this device" option, and increase Microphone Boost from +10.0 dB or above, I can hear hissing sound from my speaker
- I can use external microphone just fine (via jack)

what I already tested and still not working:
- Allow access to microphone in (Settings > privacy > microphone)
- Set it as default device
- Disabling all sound effect in (Microphone Array Properties > Enhancements)
- re-install driver from microphone array properties
- re-install driver from device manager
- re-install latest driver manually from acer website (Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.8158_W10x64_A.zip)

What I usually use for recording
- Audicity 2.1.2
- OBS Studio 22.0.2

The quickly check Control Panel for an auto restore point on or after Jan 11 before it disappears to see if it'll fix the issue. Jack E/NJ

Whoops, I should have done that before posting a question.

yup, the system restore is still here.

But unfortunately, even after system restore,
the internal mic still has the same symptoms.
Other restore point is when i re-install Audio Realtek driver (which I did after the mic already problematic)

Thus I undo the restore back to today's state

    I afraid it's a hardware problem.

Windows restore points never worked for me it's useless neither on winxp or 7 and thats the first function i disable when i have a fresh windows its a waste of time and space if you want proper backups use acronis true image instead, see if you can roll back to the previous windows before this last update if not check on add/remove programs the latest windows updates installed and remove them manually last resort backup everything and reset to factory defaults

Unfortunately, no other restore point that earlier than what i have posted above.

I got several update, and uninstall it one by one and test the mic, some update require restart

    Here is the update list

    First reset to uninstall KB4480056

    Second reset to uninstall KB4480016,

But I can't uninstall KB4470788, (right click didn't do anything).
And the internal mic problem still persist.

Well, I guess that's too much hassle, just to solve the internal mic (also might not fix it).

I think I'm gonna need to send the laptop to repair center,
or live with the mic problem and buy external mic instead.

Thank you to both JackE and xapim
for helping me providing the help, very apreciated.

You can try the last option of all which is backup whatever you need and perform a factory clean install ALT+F10 on boot select the option to not keep you files delete everything and start from scratch but as i said first backup whatever you need and that update u couln't uninstall its this one

Yep, if it still doesn't work after a full ALT+F10 cold boot reset as in the video below, a likely hardware issue is suggested. Jack E/NJ

Yeah, but even factory reset doesn't guarantee to fix this mic.
And can introduce to other problem if I messed up in the backup process,
or re-installation of all other application.

So don't think I want to risk it just fix this internal mic.
Well, guess it's time to compare pro/cons of buying external mic vs pro/cons of replacing internal mic

For a factory reset u only need to backup your stuff (all that u think its important) the acer recovery windows is pre installed with all acer software and drivers there is no way you could mess up it installs itself its the same pre-installation that you had when you got it brand new out of the box (at least mine didn't had windows installed it only installed when i switched it on the first time) but some shops open the boxes and install it themselves before selling them and seal them again personally i would do a fresh install just to make sure as windows updates can mess everything up

I'm sorry for the late update,
but I've solved this mic problem by :
    1) Opening the laptop case
    2) Look for the monitor's flexi port on the motherboard

    3) Add a layer of foam tape (around 1mm thick) on top of the port, to add extra pressure to the port since its kinda loose

That's it, the mic starts to pick my voice again.
I hope it helps other people who encounter similar problem.
