Hey everyone,

So i want to add 4gb of memory. Crucial website propose 2 different models for the same capatity. One is X8 single rank & the other X16 single rank.

It does not tell me what rank is my onboard memory, but that i need to plug the same i guess.

Thanks

Ah yes, the memory on this device is on-board, meaning it is soldered to the motherboard. You can purchase any DDR4 up to 8GB 2400MHz according to Acer's data for upgradability, but I don't see why it wouldn't take 16GB.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Download HWiNFO. Expand the memory section and under 'module chacteristics' section look for device width. If you find 8bits that means x8.

Usually, having memory from different ranks doesn't cause problems. If it happens it is on very rare occasions.
