Aspire A315-51 SSD Addition
I have an Aspire3 A315-53 and have just installed a Samsung 86 EVO SSD (250G) into the m.2 slot.
The 1TB HDD has only 105GB used.
Cloned the HDD to the SSD using the Samsung Data Migration app.
Disabled the HDD (drive 0) in the BIOS9
Booted up with the SSD successfully (seriously faster!)
Enabled drive 0 in the BIOS
Booted again and the HDD was booted from.
There is no option in the BIOS to select a boot drive. Enabling the F12 boot menu still shows only the HDD as an option.
The SSD shows up in Disk Management as "offline" due to signature collision.
My action plan (hoping someone will provide a less destructive option)
Remove the HDD from the machine.
Install it into a USB caddy
Remove all partitions, then create a single FAT32 for the entire 1TB
Install back in the Aspire
Will this remove the collision issue?
Thanks
