I got a Predator Helios 300 PH315 - 51 a month ago. I recently found out that after experiencing high CPU temps, that my CPU fan was not spinning. I took off the back to ensure it was fully plugged in and it was. However, on further inspection, the fan spins a little then stops. It continues try and spin up but fails. Can i do anything about this, as I don't have any warranty since i had to ship the laptop from abroad.

Try to oil the fan bearings with a proper electrics lubricant spray (seems to me the bearings are stuck and might work/not) if that doesn't work as u said u don't have warranty anymore u have to buy a replacement (my best bet would be aliexpress maybe or Acer themselves check the fan P/N and look for it online) and replace it either yourself or some tech store or even u can contact acer support for a replacement (they will charge you of course) my advice is if it's not working don't use the laptop until u have a replacement as you may fry it for good (just for the price of a fan is not worth to fry it) and if you are replacing it yourself you have to get some good thermal paste like kryonaut because you will have to disassemble the complete cooling system to replace the fan (be very careful with the thermal pads as they can tear up easily also clean the other fan properly and check/clean the air flow exit for any obstructions ) then repaste and put everything back together hope this clarifies it :)

Just add: there is been a month since the OP bought the laptop, so unless you broke any warranty stickers/seals in the process the warranty is intact and you can contact Acer and they will replace the fan for free under warranty cover.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Honestly just bought the same laptop, late November early December and until now the cpu fan has been fine. Two days ago it was running at about half the speed as my gpu fan turned the whole thing off shot some air duster through to see if it was dust turned it back on and now the fan was at 0. Started playing a league game after to test it and the fan came back up to maybe half of the gpu again but has since stopped. I did do that BIOS update to 1.25 but still getting the fan issue and the backlight turning off issue as well. Not really sure where to go from here

If the fans are not working properly send it to warranty for a replacement/repair as the fans are the most critical piece of hardware in a laptop in my view
