I was cleaning my laptop, but it seems like i did everything right and didn't touch battery. But after i done cleaning, my Acer doesn't turn on when it unplugged. So i plugged in, then turn on my laptop, it works, tt shows 100% Fully charged (as it was before cleaning), but as soon as i unplaged charge it shouts down. Battery was working good all time and never "died" before , and i'm not realy sure i've connected something wrong, couse it's not my first time i'm cleaning a laptop.

If your laptop turns off immediately when you unplug it from a power source, it means your battery is not working. Most likely, your battery reached the end of its useful life and stopped holding a charge

it was working so good all the time, could hold 12 hours, and just suddenly died? Can i test, somehow, if it completely dead?

Just try these steps and check
power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.
BIOS default: After power drain is done, power on the unit, but as soon as you power on the unit keep pressing the F2 key so that it take you to BIOS page. Press F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. the unit will restart

  • Hi! There is nothing wrong with your battery! It is possible that after opening the notebook, this button is not being pressed properly, see:

To resolve this, make sure the cap screws are securely attached or place some layers of electrical tape:

Oh, i don't know how, but it just fixed for no reason. I turned off my laptop, run it and unplugged charge and it works now plugged and unplugged. Maybe it needed some time after cleaning (and some action with battery) idk, but it fixed

I signed up just to be able to say thank you for your post. This fixed my son's issue, and saved me the cost and inconvenience of swapping out a battery.
