Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics 4GB Ram
AMD Radeon RX 560X 4GB dedicated VRAM

I find this odd since it says in the info that it has 4GB DDR4 in its integrated Graphics Chipset (AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics). When i checked the AMD radeon settings, it only displays 512mb of memory Size.

do i need to be worried?

AMD Radeon (TM) Vega 8 Gráficos 4GB de RAM  @chabilita03? These 512mb, refers to the ram memory that the video card embedded in the processor, pulls out of the system! In addition, there is an update of the BIOS for the video card!

nestynest  Your Control Panel power plan must be set to high or maximum performance, the charger must be plugged in and the battery charge near 100% to achieve maximum RAM  performance. Frequencies will be lower if the power plan is set to power saver or balanced. Jack E/NJ

@chabilita03 It means you only have one ram and it's running on single channel! To activate dual-channel, you must buy another identical memory for this function to be activated!

Right click an empty spot on your desktop. Click display settings. Scroll down to click advanced settings. Scroll down to display adapter properties. What do you see undeer adapter tab? Jack E/NJ

I think the issue is that the adapter has the newer faster ddr5 video ram that isn't being reported correctly. Google and download the latest freeware versions of CPU-z or Speccy for what you have inside. Jack E/NJ

Hold on. I'll have a few others users take a look at this. I still think the DDR5 is being misreported for some reason. Jack E/NJ

Vega 8 uses system RAM . What is the  hardware reserved RAM in task manager ? It should be 1.1 GB . What is the bios version ? try updating to latest bios if not on that

"The reported dedicated 0.5GB VRAM vs advertised dedicated 4GB VRAM " is the main issue here. Both CPUZ and Radeon seem to be reporting the same 0.5GB VRAM vs advertised 4GB VRAM. I'm not seeing any firmware update descriptions -- or lack thereof --- that would convince me to risk trying any of them if it was my machine. Might this be a VRAM reporting mistake perhaps due to the DDR4 SRAM & DDR5 VRAM mix in this machine.   Jack E/NJ

I think as it's an integrated graphics card, it can only show the amount of memory allocated by the system.

hi i am new here, and i also have nitro 5 but with ryzen 7, 4gb of ram and rx 560x, 1tb hard drive, my pc is extremely lagging even when using it with one program(browser), and when i checked the hardware information using speccy i saw that my nitro 5 ram's dram frequency is only working at 300 mhz max, it doesn't get higher than that even if i open programs, i have tried going to bios settings but i cannot change my ram frequency there, my bios is also updated to version 1.11 it is its most recent bios firmware, i also tried going to the service center asking questions because i didn't have my laptop when i came there, they told me that i shouldn't have updated the windows 10 and the firmware because it hurts the system, now i do not know what to do. I apologize if this message is kind of long, this is my first time, Thank you so much.

nestynest Your service center is probably not ACER certified. Win10 updates are usually automatic in which you have little or no control over.

To the rest, the AN515-42 specs suggest an integrated GPU with 4GB DDR5 VRAM with separate DDR4 SODIMMs. These seems to be a discrepancy here with reported VRAM.

thank you for responding, but i mean my sodimm seems to be not working properly, because when i open speccy and monitor the ram frequency it isn't going higher that 299 mhz, and when i open up cpu z it doesn't go higher than 500 mhz, than the supposed to be 1333 mhz.

hi guys.... I did all u suggested and it helped me alot @JackE @egydiocoelho . I updated my BIOS and both GPU (vega 8 & rx560x) to its latest version and maximize performance from control panel. Though im planning to upgrade my RAM to atleast 8GB or so because when I start my laptop, it already consumes more or less 50% of its RAM and didn't even open 1 program or app. I guess its understandable since its a gaming laptop. it usually requires a lot of RAM... right? lol

but when I play dota2 in its high settings I have no problem. but when I multitask (like opening alot of tabs in my browser and other programs) that's when it starts to get laggy.

hi chabilita, if possible, can you download cpu z and screenshot the memory information? i would like to compare my results with yours. thank you so much
