I have an Acer Aspire E15-573T laptop that originally came running Windows 10, I have since enabled legacy support in the UEFI setup utility and installed Windows 7.
Everything works fine, including the touchscreen. Except for multi-touch gestures on the trackpad. I have installed the proper Synaptic trackpad driver for Windows 8.1 for my exact model from the Acer website without success. I then installed a Synaptic trackpad driver for Windows 7 for an older laptop in the Aspire E15 series. In Device Manager, Windows recognizes it as a Synaptic trackpad but continues to use PS/2 mouse compatibility, meaning that multi-touch gestures such as two-finger scrolling, pinch zooming, two-finger tap for right click do not work. I cannot find a driver that works properly for Windows 7. I am aware that Windows 7 is not a supported operating system for my laptop, but would like to know if there is a generic, non-Acer-specific driver that I could use to enable full multi-touch support in Windows 7.

Try iobit dot com DriverBooster freeware. Or if that doesn't do it for you, then drivereasy dot com is a bit more thorough for $30 if it fixes the issue, free if it doesn't. Jack E/NJ
