I have an Aspire 7535.  When I press the Power button, the light will come on.  I can hear the HDD come on for a few seconds and then nothing else.  Nothing else powers on when I push the power button.  The screen stays black.  When I push the button for the pad to turn on/off, it usually lights up, but not now.  I tried using another monitor to see if that would work, but it doesn't.  I tried looking this up on search but seems the ones i found never really got fixed.  Any help is appreciated.

Do you have a ssd or a hdd? If you have a hdd, locate it and listen to it as you power on your laptop. If you hear something like a fast ticking sound that means that data is being read or written to the hdd. If you hear something like wind rushing by at high speed then it means that the hdd is on. If you hear loud ticking noises then your hdd is dead. Have you tried using the hdd in another pc? Does the same thing happen if you remove the hdd? Have you tried reseating and/or cleaning the contacts of the ram connectors and ram stick?

    Please, don't hijack other people's threads ;).

Even if your problem were the same, since the thread is quite old you should start a new one (and maybe reference this one if the problem were the same, but it isn't).

Start a new thread, including your full model (7535 is kind of its series but there ought to be several numbers and letters after that) and be explicit about your problem, the more details we have the better chances we can give you a quick solution.

Still... bypassing passwords may be outside of the Community Agreement and in that case you should either contact the Acer support in your area or find a different place for your query, but we'll see what the problem is first ;)
