Aspire 5750 Keeps Booting to the Boot Menu

I've had this laptop for ages and just use it as a DVD player (too cheap to buy one). A few days ago whenever I turn it on it goes straight to the acer boot menu, the only option that works is the hard drive obviously.
When it starts booting from the hard drive it issues an incredibly long bleep code from the BIOS speaker and occasionally goes into windows recovery mode.

Even when it boots into windows normally everything works as it should, it's only after I've shut it down and start up again that the boot menu and bleep code issue starts.

i5-2430M
4GB DDR3
500GB HDD

If it's still Win7 and factory BIOS, then I'd have to guess the CR2032 lithium button cell should be replaced. Eventually, you'll probably have to F2 into the BIOS menu and exit on cold boots cuz the BIOS chip needs to be refreshed. A way to test the button cell now, is if warm boots (restarts or two ctrl-alt-deletes) act normally. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the info, it's on Windows 10 but a very old build.
I can't actually boot into the BIOS, the moment I turn it on I get into the acer boot manager, last I tried it wasn't looking like it would boot into windows though just the windows logo on the screen.
I'll try replacing the button cell battery and see what that does.

You may have to turn off fast startup to enter the BIOS menu. However, with the machine shut off, turn it back on and ***immediately*** start tapping the F2 key. Don't wait for anything to appear on the screen before tapping the F2 key. If you're still not fast enough, then open Control Panel, search 'button'. Click 'change what power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings not currently available' . Scroll down and uncheck fast startup to disable fast boot. Then shut down. Try it again. Since your Win10 build is no longer supported with maintenance updates, you should seriously consider upgrading back to Win7 which will still be supported through the next year or so.
