Well, I'm the kinda guy who loves new software updates on their system and checks for new updates every often than most people. But recently, if you haven't heard, an update from Windows that rolled out recently gained the attention of the media because the update started randomly deleting files on people's computers, automatically. When asked Microsoft regarding this issue, one of their reps said that the issue is being fixed and that the problem had happened only to people who installed updates manually, by clicking for the "Check for updates" button. Microsoft said that when people clicked the button, they are actually requesting for any, potentially buggy, beta or preview version of some particular update, that is being developed and/or has not been rolled out to all Windows users.
So, what I wanna say is that, when you get a new computer or if you already own a Windows machine, you might be better off without checking for updates manually. Any and all updates that are actually important and is required by the system will be installed automatically, unless you lead a dangerous lifestyle and wanna kick things up a notch.
Good Day!
