Predator Helios 300 not picking up headset

My Predator Helios 300 does not pick up the headset I am using in the audio devices area. My devices only lost the Realtek speakers and the microphone array and so when I try to use the microphone part of my headset, it doesn’t work since the headset isn’t listed. Does anybody know how to fix this? Sorry if I don’t know what I’m talking about I am very new to this stuff.

On these laptops, it doesn't change the name of the device setting when a microphone is plugged in.  Bugged the ***** out of me too.

Try this: without the headset plugged in, tap the top of your laptop by where the webcam is.  There are two small holes and that's the array microphone.  You should see it register some noise with the green bars going up.

Then, plug in your headset and follow the prompts it gives.  After that, if you tap the same spot, you shouldn't get the same thing, but when you tap your headset microphone, it should move.
