RX560X and Vega 8 drivers? (Nitro AN515-42)

I was wondering if someone knew when will the 2019 Adrenaline AMD software will be available or if its available somewhere for the Vega 8 Mobile APUs and Rx560x dedicated graphics card. upon clicking on the home screen on AMD radeon settings it takes me to AMDs site but It doesn't show the vega mobile APUs OR the 560x although there is for 500 series for 540 and 550 I believe and for apus still the A type. I have updaed the drivers to the latest provided by acer aswell as the bios. my notebook is a Nitro AN515-42

I see the processor has no problems staying cool at 2.6-3.2ghz thanks to nitrosense, should I update the firmware the ryzen 5 apu?

I did read that AMD is going to do the vega 8 updates through the OEMs prior to my purchase, but other than the rx560x being a relatively recent card, there is no reason for them to not have it supported in the 500 series (550/540 have the adrenaline drivers) 570 and 580 are also missing from there so where do people get the drivers for that (people that are building their own PCs with rx 570 have to be getting the drivers from somewhere?

Also is there a way to enable Freesync?

I was able to force install Adrenaline version in my AN515-42 (of RX560) and also enabled ReLive and AMD link features. I also force enabled Freesync. I then compared each and every game(far cry 5, witcher 3, just cause 4, ACOdyssey) and I got only minor screen tearing and no noticeable performance improvements. So I would suggest not to do that unless you are really into it.

@Redfan sorry, but i don't use VR stuff. I manually installed the latest driver, as other members have suggested. You can try installing versions 18.5.1, 18.9.3, because they have driver.inf contains lines for Vega 8 and rx560x, other versions will not work, but I have not tested them all. I had no issues from 18.5.1, 18.9.3 and now with Adrenaline 2019. The only advice for you is to install the driver from the support page of our laptop (acer oem driver v.17.7) first, because it contains the chipset drivers, and only then with the express update method, install the latest version (or the one you want).

Acer needs to update their drivers to 2019 Adrenalin ASAP as it offers much needed performance improvements. If you are keen on trying out you can download the AMD driver for the rx560 which is identical to rx560x  and manually update . The driver package also includes drivers for vega 8 . Look up for videos on this .

For freesync to work you need a freesync compatible monitor . I don't think the built in display support freesync

indeed, Acer just told me they don't know when they will release the drivers, the 560X is not the same as the 560, just as the 570X/580X are ahead of the non X old versions, beats me because if I was to build a tower then I would likely use the 580X, how would I get the drivers for that? how do you get the drivers for the rx560x/570x/580x if you buy the desktop card? where ever that is it, could work with the rx560x or its totally different? AMD has a detect and instal software on the adrenaline if you click on the 2200g and theres a check for latest drivers, it said I already have the latest for my system 17.7 and userbenchmark has it clear that this is the ONLY one with a ryzen 5 and an rx560x (or an rx560x for that matter), I really want the upgrades that come but in reddit I found that AMD just said OEMs will release drivers and Acer tells me to contact AMD, then AMD tells me to contact Acer.

(not testing the 2200g adrenaline suit even tho its also vega 8, not experimenting with this system)

Check for videos on how to force install 2019 drivers . 560x is basically a faster 560 and there are ways to select the right driver for 560x . Check the videos

thank you, I guess ill wait until Acer releases the new drivers, not in such a hurry any more that you say you don't notice difference, ill wait unless I get the VR hardware, then ill force install since neither rift nor steam detect the rx560x with the current drivers, they just register the vega 8 even though their tests use the rx560x.

I cant seem to find which adrenaline driver is stable on the 560... seems like users are all over the place, seems like best bet is waiting for Acer to release the stable version for us

@kleton after going through reddits and being unable to find a stable solid driver for the rx560, I decided to wait since there aooea to be some bug I wouldn't tolerate, it also has to work with the vega 8 but with crimson drivers only windows mixed reality registers the card, steam and oculus don't so gotta see resource manager to see how if it will perform. a bit annoying to have to wait for adrenaline drivers before being able to run the oculus compatibility check because if it doesn't recognize the driver (both tell me t update drivers or just show vega 8 even though they use the rx560x for the simulations, so that's silly) crimson drivers aren't ready for VR the adrenaline ones are. if you find a stable version without the bugs, please share it because I will rather wait with a stable crimson driver (that has been a suggestion on reddit but that's not the 2018 560X) than us a buggy adrenaline driver, rolling back and forth to the stable driver would take too much time and for the few games I have the card with this drivers does fine on AAA titles on high settings with some ultras enabled, ful ultra causes motion blurs (skyrim 2016)

I updated the rx560x on the device manager, hoping switchable dynamic grphics doesn't disappear when going to 1809 or im giving up on acer return and change brand... ive had it 4 defective laptops and this one ha windows update corrupted since I deleted Norton to use bitdefender. pathetic how Norton corrupts the windows update even if not connected to the net.
this nitros have SO MANY software problems that at this point I would prefer another brand but cant find one with ryzen and dedicated graphics, if there was I would.

Does anyone have screenshots of the advertising page for this laptop? I remember Freesync being advertised as a feature. please post it on the AMD Reddit page with a link to this thread.

I think this laptop supports Freesync through HDMI, you have to note that only some monitors support Freesync through HDMI. Mostly newer ones.
