Strange black screen problem - acer aspire 3 a315-32

Hey friends, so I have a acer aspire 3 a315-32.
I turned it on, everything normal. Opened the internet, connected it to the Wi-Fi and then left it for a while. Came back, and the screen was entirely black except for the cursor. No idea what happened in that time.

Now whenever it is turned on it will either entirely black screen (backlit, nothing else), or it will boot (go to Acer logo, loading circle) and then show nothing but black screen + cursor (can move cursor around, nothing else).

I have tried resetting the battery (internal battery) and connecting it to my tv via HDMI to see if it was that issue. Just resulted in the laptop being black + cursor and the tv going black.

Anything else I can do? Laptop is new but I can't find the receipt for the warranty whoops.

Press and hold the power button for 5secs till the machine is completely off. Unplug the charger and any other peripherals again. Disconnect(reset) the battery again for about 30 seconds. Let the machine rest for 15 mins. Plug the charger back in. Turn on the machine and ***immediately*** press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A recovery screen should appear as in the video below. Either reset the machine to a factory fresh state by erasing everything or refresh it while attempting to save personal files. Jack E/NJ
