I have an Aspire ATC-605-UW2T desktop (windows 7) and I installed a NIVIDA GTX 1060 graphics card. When I turn the computer on there is no display signal from the old or new cards. I can do a hard shut-down, remove the new card and i get signal from the old card. Do I need a BIOS update, and if so which one?

Depending on which graphics the TC-605 shipped with it either has a 200W or 300W power supply. The 1060 pretty much requires a 500W supply in order to have enough oomph to run. I believe you have a standard ATX power supply on that model, so a replacement with enough power should be easy to find.

I already put a 500W supply in it, that's not the problem. Thanks anyway.

OK, which ports are you trying on the 1060? Does the monitor need to have its input changed to match?

I have been trying the HDMI port and yes it matches the monitor's input. I am about to give up.

Are you trying to run both the old a new cards at once? Maybe you could try with just the 1060.

In the link below, someone is running Windows 7 on a TC-605 with GTX1080.  So your 1060 should work fine (I think).  :)

    https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/11537181

    1. Uninstall/delete your old graphics driver.
    2. Shutdown your computer and unplug it from the electrical outlet
    3. Unplug your monitor from the electrical outlet
    4. Disconnect HDMI cable
    5. Remove old graphics card
    6. Install new graphics card
    7. Make sure you have proper 6 pin or 8 pin power cable connected from power supply to GTX1060
    8. Connect HDMI cable
    9. Put side panel back on TC-605
    10. Plug in computer and monitor to electrical outlet
    11. Turn on computer.
    12. Install driver as per your graphics card owners manual.

Note: I'm assuming your computer originally came pre-installed with Windows 7.  So that means your BIOS settings are: Secure boot disabled and CSM is set to Always.

If the 12 step instructions above don't work, then here are the instructions for updating your BIOS.  Check your current BIOS version first before proceeding.

    1. Download P21.A4  (P21.A4 is the Windows 7 BIOS) (Windows 8 machines use the P11.B4 BIOS)  (Linpus machines use P11.B4L)
    2. Extract/unzip
    3. Copy the Win and ROM folders to a USB flash thumb drive
    4. Open an admin command prompt
    5.  If your USB flash thumb drive has a drive letter of F, then you would type

    F:
    cd win
    flash

    6. After the processing completes, restart your computer
    7. Enter the BIOS settings by pressing the <<delete>> key on your keyboard......when it prompts you.
    8. Load the BIOS defaults (F9) and then save/exit (F10).

Update your BIOS at your own risk :)

I don't have any more ideas. Sorry.  Hopefully @billsey can help you figure it out.  Probably something simple.  Good luck.

Note2:  I have a Windows 8 TC-605 with GTX 960.  It seems like the graphics card came with DVD in the box that had a driver on it and I think that's how installed the driver, but it's been so long ago, I can't quite remember.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
