I really like the backlight of my little Swift 1, but it goes out automatically after 60 seconds even when the laptop is plugged in. Is there any way to keep the backlight on all the time like on the Predator?

  • Hi,
I don't think you can do it as it's a power saving feature to preserve the battery life, so it's not available in everyday laptops.

Would love to adjust this my self. Atleast an option to adjust from 30 to 1000sec or something.
  • If the keypad light were on all the time, the battery would be discharged faster!

Of course it would. Quite literally EVERYTHING you do on your laptop drains the battery faster than just letting the computer sit there idly. But the battery's charge is there to be used, and it should be your choice what you want to use it for. If I want to have the backlight turned on for two minutes, or five, or all the time, that should be my choice to make. Otherwise one could argue that you shouldn't be allowed to any screen brightness but the lowest one because a brighter screen drains the battery quicker.

    Exactly!

I bet a work around for this woulnd't be too complicacted. My guess is there is a timer within the regedit that could be edited somehow.
