Hello :)

I got Acer predator Helios 500 (PH517-51) about 2 month ago. Immediately after that I started playing games and noticed a worrying problem in Heroes of the storm. Randomly and without any warning, the computer reboots. No BSOD, error messages anything. Game freezes, although I can still hear Discord voice for a few seconds, then I see a white screen, sometimes filled with RGB squares, and then the computer reboots. Thinking it was game related, I tried reinstalling the game and changing graphics settings. Disabling anti-aliasing seems to have helped. But now I've started seeing the same issue in Destiny 2.

I waited for some time before asking hoping it would go away after updating drivers/games/windows etc - but it didn't. It's pretty sporadic and sometimes it happens only once during a few-hour session, sometimes more often, sometimes I wouldn't experience it in days etc. Windows event log doesn't provide much info either (although I'm not an expert there), I can see reboot event but no fatal issues/warning before it happens. Furthermore, I have only ever encountered this in games, so could it be related to G-sync? Do you have any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Any help is much appreciated.

These are the specs:
    Intel Core i9-8950HK
    Nvidia GTX 1070
    32GB ram
512GB ssd (nvm, main), 1TB ssd (sata, storage)
    Win10 Pro (1803)
Nvidia drivers v417.01 (and few latest older versions as well)
    DX12

Thanks for a reply. I'm not sure how to log temperature that are saved after abrupt reboot, but I doubt it. I ran ValleyBench and never hit any temperatures that could be concerning. As for the RAM, I'm yet to go over 16GB while doing anything and I've sorted the memory leak bug in predator sense

Have you tried to reinstall ur driver settings? Either from getting the newest one or getting an older version of ur driver. I recommend then getting DDU a driver uninstaller. But before u download it be sure to put ur computer in safe mode. After u downloaded the uninstaller just install the newest driver or one thats old that you know is working. Hopefully it helps, it helped for me

Did you find a solution. I’m still experiencing this and when I sent it back to Acer they said my SSD was damaged. They replaced it and still having issues though not as prevalent

Yes, I sent it back for repairs and was told they replaced the mainboard. I have been testing it for 2 weeks now and it works fine.
