I recently bought an Aspire 3 - i3 - 7100U, Intel HD graphics. Windows 10 is up to date as far as I know. I realize from the Internet that Touch - pad dropping or software elimination is a "feature" of Acer & Asus. You product is A - 1 great overall!!! The mouse works great!!! You sell the computer with Windows 10 installed & I realize Windows 10 is also driving consumers nuts. I assume you know all about it & are trying to fix it. Since I love humor I would like to know if this is a "feature" of Acer & Asus due to your hardware design???

This feature is mostly courtesy of Microsoft's new and unimproved Windows10  lifecycle and update policy.  If you don't like it too much, you can try 2 possible fixes to make it go away.

First open Control Panel. Search for 'button'. Select change what power buttons do in the left panel. Click change settings currently unavaiiable. Scroll down the list and uncheck fast startup to disable fast boot. Then shutdown Windows. Turn it back on again for a slower cold boot to see if the feature is gone. If successful, probably best to leave the system in cold boot mode to help avoid future annoyances like this.

If not, you can reset your new ACER to a factory fresh state. Then at least temporarily delay Microsoft's attempts to put it right back on your machine with the first Win10 update after it was manufactured.
