I have checked that the settings show that Bluetooth is enabled.  I have also used the device manager to that Bluetooth services are running.  I have also reinstalled the Bluetooth device driver and restarted the computer.

I used three different Bluetooth devices to test the computer's ability to detect Bluetooth devices.  When I go to add the device, the computer doesn't see any devices.

I am about out ideas.  Anyone?

I assume all 3 BT devices were put in discovery mode. So has this machine  ever been able to detect a BT device in discovery mode? Jack E/NJ

Hi imontgom, Please follow this step:
1:- Press the windows key and W key
2:- Type troubleshooter in the search box and hit the enter key
3:- Click Hardware and sound and than run the hardware and device troubleshooter.

    Step 2:-
1: - press Windows key + R, type services.msc. Next, right click on Bluetooth Support service and select Restart.

Step 3:- Update the bluetooth driver from device manager

JackE:  All three BT devices were in discovery mode.  Also, the computer recognized a Bluetooth mouse for three or four day and then stopped.

Thamahe2018:  I have already (1) run the troubleshooter, (2) restarted the Bluetooth service, and (3) reinstalled the driver.  No luck with any of those actions.

OK. Approximately what date did the BT mouse stop working? Jack E/NJ

I bought the computer November  19th and bluetooth failed on the 22nd or 23rd.

Also, I change USB ports yesterday and Bluetooth started working (though I had tried it before to no avail).  This morning I started up the laptop and discovered Bluetooth is not working again.

Well, I think I found a symptom of the problem when I did the following:

Settings > Bluetooth & other devices > More Bluetooth options

On the Options tab, the box labelled "Allow Bluetooth devices to see the name of this PC was not checked.  Which is odd since I checked that yesterday.

OK. Two possibilities. Let's try the simplest first. Open Control Panel. Search power plan. Select choose what the power button do in the left panel. Click change settings that are not now available. Scroll down the list and uncheck turn on fast startup to disable fast boot. Then shutdown Windows to turn the machine completely off. Then turn it back on for a slower cold boot. If it fixes the problem, I suggest leaving it in slow cold boot mode to avoid similar future problems. Jack E/NJ
