Hi,
I have an
Aspire E1-571G that does not boot up, has a black screen since last week.
Before that
it had shown warnings, that the battery needs replacement due to its low
capacity. After the boot failure and black screen I have replaced a new battery,
but there was no change, the laptop is still unusable, no boot up, black screen.
The details:
1. After
the first boot failure, black screen, I have tried hundred times to power on
the laptop, but it was only once successful. That time it was operating as
before. Since then I was not able to power on the laptop again.
2. Pressing
the power button the power indicator LED switched on, the battery indicator LED
was continuously off, the HDD indicator LED was blinking.
3. After resetting
the CMOS memory (JCMOS1) the battery indicator was already blinking amber,
showing the problem with the battery. The power indicator was on, the HDD
indicator was blinking. No other changes, the boot failed and the screen remained
black.
4. After swapping
to the new battery the battery indicator LED already indicates the ‘Charging’
and ‘Fully charged’ states as it should do. But no other changes, the power LED
is on, the HDD LED blinking, the boot fails and the screen remains black.
5. Since I
do not see anything on the black screen, I cannot decide where the failure is,
in which part of the boot process the machine stops and freezes. I have tried:
- F2 (open BIOS setup),
- Fn + F5 (Int/Ext Display toggle),
- Fn + F12 (SCR LK), reset again and again CMOS memory,
- pressed power button for 60 sec. after removing battery and power cord,
- checked CMOSD battery: 3.1 V,
- cleaned RAM module,
- totally cleaned up internally the laptop,
but without
any success.
6. It does
not help, if I remove the HDD, the difference is that the HDD indicator is off,
does not blink at all.
The hardware:
ACER Aspire E1-571G
Part Number: NX.M7CEU.007
OS: Windows 8, 64 bit
MFG Date: 2013/07/06
Could you
help me, what the root cause of the problem is?
