I've a brand-new laptop with Realtek audio. This doesn't include the Enhancements that I have on a much older Acer laptop so I have downloaded and installed Realtek High Definition Audio to replace the pre-installed drivers.

However, when I wake the laptop up after putting it into 'Sleep' mode there is no sound. The drivers are still there, but I just can't hear anything without having to re-start the machine entirely. Are there any solutions to this? Cheers

Under start up settings, check if you have disabled realtek high definition audio. Usually you can find this option in task manager, startup. If its disabled then enable it and save the settings. Once done test the device. This should do the trick.

Alternatively you can uninstall the audio drivers ( do not check the box to delete the driver software ). Once, done restart the device and check.

Cheers. The first option doesn't apply, sadly. I think I've tried the second option and all that does is upgrade me to the Realtek without the Enhancement options I'm wanting. But I'll try again and see how it goes...
